Basic Negroni

In case you were unsure, I love Negronis. The best Negroni I have ever had was from JJ at Smoke BBQ Taqueria. After getting a few, I asked him what he used. The key difference was the vermouth. He used Del Professore Rosso. I don’t know enough about the differences to give you a deep dive, but Del Professore is much more flavorful than your average sweet vermouth. It’s also not as sweet and overpowering as another fan favorite, Carpano Antica. If you can get these vermouths, I highly recommend them. Even the Classico makes a fantastic Negroni. And, while you’ll see a lot of Beefeater or Prairie, that’s mostly because those are easy to get in large quantities. My favorite gin for a Negroni is Plymouth. Awesome Negroni cup is from J & Tony’s Discount Cured Meats and Negroni Warehouse in San Diego.

1 oz Plymouth Gin

1 oz Del Professore Rosso

1 oz Campari
